Tips On Becoming A Star Blogger In Blogosphere

Blogging August 12th, 2008

Most of the bloggers have this kind of “I’ve posted an entry and wait for someone to leave a comment” attitude. This is way wrong for a noob blogger. Unless if your blog already well known among other bloggers, then writing a crap post will definitely get you lots of traffic. So, if you’re new in blogging, what should you do?

I did mentioned in my previous post about how to get more blog readers to come and drop by to your site. Getting more visitors eventually will expose your blog site in blogosphere.

1. Do Your Post Have To Be Content Killer?

No. Totally disagree on this. You have to know what does it mean by “Content Killer”. A killer content means that your post must be ahead from other bloggers. Meaning something fresh and not many bloggers know about it. Don’t you feel like a champ when you are the first blogger to post about something new? Wow.. The smell of victory.

This is what most of the big bloggers tried to hide the meaning from you. So that they can be one step ahead from others.

2. Don’t Be Too Serious In Your Post.

Writing a good post will get you more visitors to your site. But what is a post if you’re too serious on it? Most of the blog readers preferred a post with some humor in it. So give it to them. We don’t want readers to read your post in such a tense environment. Don’t we? Relax a bit, and you should be fine.

3. Do more Social Networking To Expose Your Blog.

Stumble Upon, MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog are some of the sites that you can sign up and get more exposure among other bloggers. Drop by to their sites and they will do the same. It’s easy, doesn’t it?

4. Leave A Comment On Other Blogs, Even If It’s A Sarcastic Comments.

Don’t be a dork to leave a comment such as “Great Post” or “Thanks for the tips”. Make sure you give the best opinion about other blog posts. You too can leave a sarcastic comments, but make sure it related to the post itself..!! Trust me, leaving a sarcastic comments will get you more exposed to the blogosphere..!!!

5. Write A Post About Big Name Bloggers

There are lots of Big Name Bloggers in blogosphere. Write a post about them and give the most honest thoughts about their blogs. You don’t have to praise them all the time. See what i have done in my previous post about John Chow.

There you go. Hope that these tips can help your blog to be more expose in blogosphere. Don’t quit in blogging. It does make you a loser.

Get Your Own Domain Name

Featured August 8th, 2008

This is my honest thoughts on domain name.

www.Yoursite.com - You’re cool dudes / chicks in blogosphere

www.Yoursite.WORDPRESS or BLOGSPOT.com - You’re not cool enough (Applied to those who have been blogs for years)

www.Yoursite.co.cc - Damn..!!! You definitely out of my list…Go away..

Having your own label, or your own brand in something you love to do definitely excites you. If you love cooking, then having your own special recipes does make you ‘out of the box‘ from others. And if on the same time you love blogging, you can mixed up your love in cooking with blogging. Thus, you will create a label / brand in blogosphere.

Domain name is a label or a brand that represents your identity or portfolio in blogging. Indeed if you’re having a dot wordpress or dot blogspot domain name will still represent your portfolio, REMEMBER THAT THIS DOMAIN NAME BELONGS TO THESE 2 FREE HOSTING SERVICE. In other words, you’re renting the domain name just to expose yourself in blogging. So why don’t spend some little money to get your own domain name?

Represent Seriousness And Professionalism In Blogging

If you love blogging, owning your own domain name shows that you’re serious in blogging. Most proactive blogger would think that you’re not blogging serious enough if you’re using free domain names ( even if you can convince them ). Let’s put it this way. If you own a domain name, you’re on your way to become a professional blogger in the future.

Wrap Your Niche In Domain Name

As i mentioned above, if you love to cook, create a domain name related to cooking. for example ‘ilovetocook.com’ or ‘mysecretrecipes.com’ will definitely let other bloggers to know your professionalism. This way, other bloggers can easily remember your portfolio if they too in the same niche. Thus, will help you to build your own brand and your portfolio among others. And if you can tweak some SEO in your blog site using this kind of domains, it’s easy to get top ranking in 100% free Google Search Engine.

Blogosphere Are Totally Different Than Real World

In real life, people refers you to your own name. But in blogosphere, people refers you to your domain name. For example, 5x obnoxious mom is referring to Chan Lilian. So don’t expect other bloggers will call out your real name in blogosphere. All will be included with domain names. Example, “Chan Lilian from 5xmom.com”. Doesn’t that sound cool?

Some people can’t afford to pay some money to own a domain name. So why don’t you blog to make money online instead of writing a post about your personal things? Earn some cash and buy your own domain name.

All this is common sense, bloggers.. Owh come on..!! Don’t you have common sense?

And yeah i love Link Love

Things I Do Before Purchasing Web Hosting

Hosting August 7th, 2008

I was in the midst to apply for new web hosting service. Not because of my current web hosting sucks, but I’m thinking of having another service to compare which one is good. Actually i did so many googling about web hosting but in the end, i managed to narrow down my choice into 2 web hosting service.

First, i like to try out Blue Host web hosting service but first i need to know how good it is. Of course if you ask their online customer service, definitely they will pour you with good things about their product. So i better find their users and ask how good the product. Eventually, my blogging mom is using blue host service. I drop an email, asking her how good is blue host service. Not only she replied my email, she even post about it and link love to my blog. Ohh how nice, mom..

Now i have confident applying BlueHost.com

For second web hosting, i choose GoDaddy dot com and i find out a lot of bad comments from their users. Most of them stated that their service are not so friendly to the customer. But i have 2 domains registered with them. Hmm… Oh Shit..!!! I have an account with them..!!

In the end, i drop GoDaddy..

Well, if you’re looking for a web hosting service, PLEASE find a review about them, and make sure whether their service is good or not.

Look for the best offers such as unlimited MySQL, unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth or whatsoever.

Do a calculation on currency rate if you live in other countries than U.S. If money is tight, then you should consider local web hosting.

That’s all from me.. Cheeriioo..

A Last Message That Shocked Me

Personals August 6th, 2008

There was a girl that i rarely known in my life. I knew this girl when her car hit my rear bumper last year somewhere in September. Then after all was settled, we never keep in contact or whatsoever.

Last 2 days, i received a mobile text message from her saying that she was sorry for all the things she had done, and asking for my forgiveness. I was blurred reading her message, and i replied, asking what’s wrong. She never replied me back then. I was like “What happen? She never done any wrong to me, even the car accident was settled. So what’s up?”

Next day, again i tried sending her a text message asking the same thing. And again, i failed to get an answer.

Today, after being so tension waiting her to reply, i called her number instead. Then there was a guy’s voice on the other end.

“Hello, is Melissa around?”

“Who is this?”

“Err.. I am her friend..”

“She’s not around..”

“Can i know where she is?”

“She passed away 2 days ago..”

“Hah?”

Innalillah…
